Apple launches 3 new iPhone models
Apple has unveiled its latest iPhone models – the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XR.
The iPhone XS Max is the most costly ranging from £1099 – £1449!
The XR is priced at £749 – £899 and the XS £999 – £1349.
We’re wondering will these hefty price tags put off Apple customers?
Screen Size
To begin with let’s compare their screen sizes:
iPhone XS – 5.8in
iPhone XS Max – 6.5in
iPhone XR – 6.1in
It seems we’re preferring larger screen sizes. Those on Plus models missed the feel of the larger handset when the iPhone X came out, so Apple has re-incorporated it again this time round.
Casing
iPhone XR – The XR is the cheapest of the three new handsets. Available in six different colours (black, white, yellow, blue, coral and red). Instead of being made from stainless steel its body is aluminium with a glass back. The iPhone XR also uses LCD instead of OLED.
iPhone XS – The XS comes in gold, silver and space grey.
iPhone XS Max – The XS Max is available in gold, silver and space grey.
New Faster Processor
The latest phones have a new processor (A12 Bionic) which results in improved features.
Improved Battery life
In comparison to the iPhone X the XS will last around 30 minutes longer. Apple also claims the XS Max to last 90 minutes longer than the X. Lastly, the XR is claimed to last 90 minutes more than the 8 Plus.
Fast charging with new charger
Get your hands on the new 18W charger to take advantage of faster charging with the new iPhones.
Face ID
Apple has said that Face ID will work faster. Say goodbye to the Home button as it’s no longer there on any of the new iPhone models!
Camera and Photos
There were expectations that Apple would possibly introduce three rear cameras to its newest models however this was not the case this time around. The XS and the XS Max both have two 12mp lenses, meanwhile the XR has one rear camera. Apple has added a new feature to Photos allowing users to change the depth-of-field of a photo once it’s been taken.
New Apple Watch
Alongside the new handsets Apple also unveiled the new Apple smart watch which has a new processor, improved microphone and speaker system.
Two of the big features incorporated into the new Apple Watch are fall-detection and the ability to take an ECG reading.
The watch also has a 32% or 35% bigger screen depending on which model you choose.
New Apple Watch features include:
- Larger screen
- Displays electrocardiogram heart waveforms
- Notifies you if your heart is beating abnormally fast or slow
- Fall-detection
- Activity Competitions
- Workout Updates
- Running features
- Apple Podcasts
- Walkie-Talkie
- Smarter Siri
The series 4 watches start from £399.
