Philips Hue works with the Amazon Echo and Dot allowing you to use voice control to regulate your home lighting. Once set up you can ask Alexa to turn on the lights when you arrive home or off when you’re leaving.
You’ll need to purchase a Philips Hue starter kit which includes smart light bulbs and a bridge. You then attach the Hue bulbs to your existing sockets, turn on the bridge and connect it through the Alexa app.
How can I control my TV with Alexa?
You’ll need a Logitech Harmony Hub to do this.
The Harmony Hub turns your phone or tablet into a universal remote allowing you to control your smart home devices, additionally the hub works with Alexa which you can pair with the TV for instance.

Assuming your thermostat name is ‘Hive’ or ‘Nest’ here’s some examples of things you can say to Alexa to control your Thermostat:

“Alexa, what’s the temperature?”
“Alexa, set the (Nest/Hive) temperature to 20 degrees”
