2. Hit Tennis 2

Play tennis on your iPad with by swiping your finger with that lets you hit the ball like real tennis. A slightly annoying tutorial, but two player split screen mode is great fun.

3. Fruit Ninja Lite

4. Omium – 2 Player Shooter

This game is so much fun, if only for the fact that you can finally be the invaders in space invaders. These glorius bad guys *always* win… it’s just a matter of time. Get stuck in and destroy that wretched spaceship.

6. Spikeball For Two

Like air hockey and snakes crazy love-child on steroids. You play opposing snakes destined to sneak the ball into your opponents goal. There are various powerups and challenges to score points without scoring a direct hit. Oh, an watch out for being frozen by your opponent.

7. Dots & Boxes Neo FREE

Paper by 53 and Draw Something aren’t the only apps trying to kill paper. Dots and Boxes Neo is an awesome retro twist on the old classic paper game boxes. Probably best saved for long journeys.

8. The Roswell Game

A fun 4 player game, battle it out to collect the most gems and powerups. One of only a handful that allows 4 players at once.

Just watch out for the controls on this one though, not the smoothiest game on the appstore.

9. Chess Time – Multiplayer game

Another classic boardgame ported to the iPad. If you like chess, and you don’t have a chessboard with you… this app is perfect to chill out over coffee with a mate.

Ping4four is an obvious take on arcade classic Pong. It’s a 4 player game and frankly starts off a little slow but escalates very quickly into multiball madness. It comes with a noise warning, you won’t be staying quiet after a few rounds of people huddled around this one.
