The Blackberry 10: RIM’s Saving Grace?
Research in Motion (RIM), the brains behind the Blackberry, are unveiling the BB10 today after being delayed last year. Could this be the comeback RIM has been waiting for?
Once a worldwide success for its business-oriented design and features, the Blackberry now pales in comparison to mobile mega-giants Apple and Samsung. Handset issues and massive service crashes in 2011 meant that devoted users lost faith and sought mobile satisfaction elsewhere.
The new operating system will be launched today at six events across the globe. There will be two handsets available – the Z10 touchscreen phone and the X10 model which sticks to the traditional Qwerty keyboard. Will this revamp and diversity mean that RIM will be back in the game? Or will sales continue to disappoint, giving Apple and Samsung the chance to extend their lead? Are you excited for the BB10?
