Romantic things to ask Alexa on Valentine’s Day
Many owners of the Amazon Echo or Amazon Dot have been asking Alexa all sorts of weird and wonderful questions!
Well, it’s almost that time of the year again, Valentine’s Day.
Singletons stay calm, brace yourself, Alexa will be your Valentine!
Alexa has apparently received more than 250,000 marriage proposals!
With Valentine’s Day approaching here’s some amusing questions you can ask Alexa:
“Alexa, will you marry me?”
“Alexa, who is your Valentine?”
“Alexa, will you be my Valentine?”
“Alexa, tell me a story”
“Alexa, start loving me”
Alexa can even calculate love compatibility. Simply say “Alexa, ask love calculator” and Alexa will then ask for the two names you wish to compare. Will love be in the air for you?
Lighting & Music
If you want to go all out this Valentine’s and set a romantic ambiance at home for when your loved one walks through the door, get the lights dimmed and love music playing.
If you’re an Amazon Music customer you can say:
“Alexa, play the Love Me playlist”
“Alexa, play the Love Me Not playlist”
If you haven’t yet connected Alexa to your lighting at home this is something definitely worth considering. Make your smart home even smarter so when you arrive home from work you can say “Alexa, turn on living room lights” and wahey the lights will come on in a matter of seconds!
To set this feature up simply get a smart switch or bulb such as TP-Link or Philips Hue.
You’ll love the on-demand lighting feature so much we’ll be surprised if you don’t set up all the rooms in your home with Alexa.
Uber
Perhaps you’ve booked a candle-lit dinner and need to arrange getting there? Use Alexa to book your Uber and you’ll have a driver sent right over to you.
“Alexa, ask Uber to request a ride”
Just Eat
Planning a relaxed evening at home on the 14th? Let Alexa order-in the pizza for you. With thanks to the handy Just Eat partnership this means you can get Alexa to order you a take-away from any of the restaurants it has available.
“Alexa, ask Just Eat to re-order my last Chinese”
“Alexa, ask Just Eat what can I re-order?”
“Alexa, ask Just Eat where’s my food?”
Simply link this skill to your Just Eat account to allow Alexa to see your order history and check the status of an order you’re waiting for.
You can re-order a previous take-away order, choose if you want to collect / have it delivered, plus choose your preferred payment method – card or cash. Alexa can even keep you posted on the progress of your order. The only downside is we’re afraid you’ll still have to answer the door, unless you’re fortunate enough to own a robot!
Classic Love Stories
Amazon has made available free audiobooks of Pride & Prejudice for Valentine’s Day this year. You can also listen to Jane Eyre.
“Alexa, read Pride and Prejudice from Audible”
“Alexa, read Jane Eyre from Audible”
We hope this helps you on your way to setting the romantic scene and creating the perfect Valentine’s Day.
