Fun Halloween events for children in Buckinghamshire
For most children Halloween is an exciting time of the year. It’s a great opportunity for them to select a spooky outfit and get creative by making fun decorations. There’s some great places in Buckinghamshire to take your children leading up to Halloween. From pumpkin carving to potion making and broomstick races there really is so much for them to get involved with. Here’s some of the top places to visit with your children this October!
The Hell Fire Caves
Hell Fire Caves, Church Lane, West Wycombe, High Wycombe, HP14 3AH
Halloween is the perfect time to visit the Hell Fire Caves at their best. The caves undergo transformation with a mixture of props, lighting and creepy music.
Halloween Fun (24th October – 29th October 2016)
During Halloween week join daily in the courtyard at the Hell-Fire Caves for lots of free Halloween fun including:
- Spooky games
- Colouring competitions
- Fancy dress competitions (1:15pm Monday to Friday)
Face Painting available (for a small charge).
Normal entry prices apply if you want to enter the Caves.
Halloween games and face painting on Monday 24th – Saturday 29th October
Special Witches Workshops (Monday 24th – Friday 28th October 2016)
An hour of fun including:
- Potion making
- Werewolf banishing
- Broomstick races
- A tour of the Hell-Fire Caves
Booking required.
Cost: £10 per child (includes admission to Hell-Fire Caves)
Recommended for ages 4 – 10.
When: Daily at 10.30am, 12:00pm, 1:45pm and 3:00pm
Ghost Tours
Ghost tours taking place on 31st October 2016 between 11am and 5pm.
Fright Nights
When: 28th, 29th and 31st October (Not including Sunday 30th October)
Time: 6pm – 9:30pm
Costs: £9.50 per person
Suitable for ages 10 and over, under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Cliveden (Wands, Wizards and Witches in the Woods)
Start your witch and wizard training in the woods at Cliveden. Begin by choosing a wooden wand with the power you wish to possess and learn how to cast a spell. Continue on your spellbinding journey into the woods where you must collect natural things with which to brew your potion. Make sure you’re dressed in your best witch and wizard attire.
This is a drop in session and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Ideal for children aged 4 – 11. £3 per child.
Taking place at Cliveden between 22nd – 30th October 2016 between 11am – 3pm.
