BT Scam Call – Your internet will be disconnected

We have heard reports of a BT scam whereby the caller suggests they are calling from BT. They advise you that your internet will be disconnected today due to allowing someone to use it to make an illegal bank transfer.

BT officials have said the scammers are using a screening system that stops it from showing the international number they are actually calling from. A local area code number is shown to help disguise themselves.

In the report we received they used the victim’s phone number as the caller ID.
