The vehicle identification number, often simply called the VIN number, is a special 17-element code that is unique in each case. Do you always use it when you buy a car ?

The VIN number is very important for vehicles and their owners. The identification number is assigned at the factory and is not allowed to be changed during the entire service life. It is required for the registration of documents. According to worldwide requirements for the production of a vehicle, the manufacturer may not reuse the VIN number for 30 years. The VIN is unique it is never repeated and is like a human fingerprint.

The VIN code is also very often used to find the right parts for a particular vehicle. This is necessary so that mechanics do not make a mistake with the part ordered and can provide proper quality service.
