    What can I get for a housewarming gift from an antique? My friends recently got married and bought a house in a classic design. I’m invited to a moving-in party. I know other friends will be giving a set of vintage dinnerware, another friend is bringing a painting. I don’t know what to get, I’m not a connoisseur of antiques.

    When I hear of antiques, I imagine solid wood furniture with fancy carvings. If you can’t decide what to give as a gift, you can go to the store and buy something that you would like. Sometimes it’s not the person who chooses the item, but the other way around.

    You have a wide range of gift choices. Sometimes this fact only complicates the decision. I would suggest that you give them a porcelain vase. That way you can strengthen their relationship. Because the vase should have flowers in it. You can also give them a tapestry or a carpet, but that’s for your own taste. I think the vase is a universal option.
